Bhubaneswar, June 9: The arrival of monsoon in Odisha will be delayed this year. The recent weather-cast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has revealed it on Thursday. According to the prediction of the IMD, the South-Western monsoon will not touch the Odisha landscape before the Raja. It’s due to the interference of the North-Western wind and the climatic effects related to it. Thus due to delayed monsoon, the weather condition during the Raja will be favourable for celebration. It is due to the sunny, dry weather for approximately up to the next 8-10 days. However, extremely heat wave will be prevailed in most of the districts said the report. However the monsoon winds have touched Bay of Bengal and also the southern India in time. Worth mentioning, the monsoon after reaching Kerala takes around 10 days to reach Odisha normally. It reaches Kerala by June 1 and brings rain in Odisha latest by June 10-13.
