Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with a money laundering case lodged against him. On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate had grilled Shruti Panigrahi, the daughter of Pradeep Panigrahi for over six hours in this regard. The ED grilled Shruti about the money transactions made from and to the account of Akash Pathak. Worth mentioning, the Gopalpur MLA was arrested by the Vigilance on charges of forgery, criminal conspiracy and other cyber offences on December 3, 2020. An investigation had revealed that he had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure as a public servant from May 24, 2009 to November 30, 2020. He was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 5,05,04,656.
