Miscreants open fire at Jeweller in Sundargarh, dies

Sundargarh, Mar 1: A jeweller was admitted to hospital in a critical condition as some unidentified miscreants open fired at him near Baragaon post office under Baragaon police limits in the district today. According to the locals, the victim identified as Rahul Verma had just opened his jewellery shop this morning when three bike-borne miscreants approached and opened fire at him. A local also got injured while trying to save the jeweller. Both the victims were rushed to the nearby hospital where Rahul was further shifted to Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela as his condition deteriorated. later, he succumbed to the the bullet injury. The health condition of the injured one is stated to be critical. The miscreants managed to escape from the spot. However, the gun was found lying at the spot. On being informed, the police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter with seizure of the gun.
