<strong>Minor boy dies in Welfare Dept. school in Malkangiri: Parents allege negligence</strong>

Malkangiri, May 16: A minor boy who was a boarder of an Welfare Department’s school in Malkangiri died in a suspicious condition. Parents and guardians alleged negligence of the school authorities for the sudden death of the child. The mishap took place at Nandiniguda Ashram School under the Khairaput block limits on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Shridhar Khemudu who was a student of Class IV and residing in the school. Sources said, Shridhar complained of his ill health to his roommates. He was given a medicine but in vain. Eventually, he was rushed to the Khairaput hospital as his pain persisted despite the primary care. However, he was declared dead. Following this, the parents of the deceased and the President of the school management committee alleged the absence of the concerned teachers and the recklessness of the school authorities. On the other hand, a probe into the minor’s death has been initiated.
