Bhubaneswar: Expressing displeasure over Government inaction towards fulfilment of their demand of establishment of a permanent bench of Oridsa High Court in western Odisha, lawyers on Wednesday showed black flag to Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Surjya Narayan Patro near the main gate of Mahanadi Coalfield Limited (MCL) at Burla in Sambalpur district.
Minister Patro was going to a paddy procurement centre when agitating lawyers showed him black flags, according to reports.
It may be noted thay lawyers have been staging a stir, demanding estabishment of a Permanent HC Bench in the western region, for long. Earlier, a team of lawyers had met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and urged him to write to the Centre in favour of their demand. The CM had also written an official missive in that regard.
