Military chopper crash: Critical equipments of Mi-17V5 helicopter recovered from site

Nilgiris, Dec 9: The Indian Air Force (IAF) officials on Thursday recovered critical equipment of the IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter that crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu with death of 13 people including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. According to sources, the IAF has recovered the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder of the chopper from the site. The investigation into the military chopper crash will be led by Air Marshal Manavendra Singh. CDS Gen Bipin Rawat was on a visit to Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (Nilgiri Hills) to address the faculty and student officers of the Staff Course on Wednesday. Around noon yesterday, the helicopter with a crew of 4 members carrying the CDS and nine other passengers met with a tragic accident near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
