Migrant laborer from Odisha succumbs to Corona in Surat; Family cries for assistance

Bhubaneswar, April 10: A migrant laborer of Bhadrak succumbed to Corona in Surat on Saturday. His bereaved family cries for assistance for bread and butter. Sources said Arjun Bindhani(34)of Saya Mohadev Sahi under Tihidi block in Bhadrak used to work as a migrant laborer in Surat. He had returned his native village amid the pandemic. However, he rejoined his work in Surat last month Meanwhile, he was affected by Corona virus and was admitted to GV Bhawani Multi Specialty Hospital in March. Arjun spent everything whatever he saved from his wages. At the same time, his wife Sunita fulfilled the demand of the hospital worth Rs two lakh selling homestead land. However, Arjun succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday. Arjun was the only earning member of his eight member family including his elderly mother, wife, a son, a daughter and two dependent younger brothers. They are waiting for financial assistance from the government after Arjun’s untimely death.
