Mentally challenged minor gives birth to boy child, youth arrested on rape charges

Balasore, Aug 26: A youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a mentally challenged minor girl in Basta area of Balasore district. The Balasore police have held the youth, who is said to be a distant relative, after the mentally challenged girl reportedly gave birth to a boy child at a shelter home in Balasore. According to a woman social activist of 'Nari Sangha', the girl was living with her mother and three brothers who are physically challenged in many ways. A relative allegedly raped the minor girl and she got pregnant. Being informed, the Nari Sangha sheltered the girl and her blind mother where the girl delivered a child on Thursday.
