Masked robbers target ATM van, escape with Rs 1.5 crore in Odisha's Tigiria

Cuttack, Nov 10: Masked miscreants allegedly looted approximately Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM loading van on Friday in the Tigiria area of Cuttack district. 

The brazen crime took place on Godijharia Nua Sadak Road near a rice mill under Tigiria police limits.

Reportedly, a group of over eight masked culprits, armed and traveling in an SUV and motorcycles chased the ATM cash van. They intercepted the van near a secluded spot close to the rice mill.

The armed culprits threatened the van's driver to halt at gunpoint. Subsequently, they absconded with a trunk reportedly containing over Rs 1.5 crore in cash from the van.

Upon receiving information, police reached the scene and started an investigation. Police said that they are trying to identify the robbers and are in touch with their counterparts in neighboring district police forces.
