Hyderabad, April 25: In yet another incident of Maoist violence, the red rebels have torched a bus in Chintoor locality of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh last night.
As per reports, the incident took place near Kottur forest when a bus with around 40 to 50 passengers on board was en route to Hyderabad from Umerkote in Nabarangpur via Malkangiri. The armed red rebels intercepted the bus at gunpoint and asked the passengers to deboard the vehicle.
Thereafter, they set the bus on fire. Except for the two persons who were sleeping inside the bus and sustained minor burn injuries, all other passengers escaped unhurt.
The injured were identified as residents of the Nabarangpur district.
