Maoists kill villager over suspicion of police informer in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Bijapur, Jan 2: The Maoist menace has raised its ugly head in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh after the red rebels killed a villager on suspicion of being a police informer late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Hemanta Badi, a resident of Timmapur village under Basaguda police limits.
According to sources, four to five armed Maoists had come to Timmapur village on Saturday night and took Badi, a mentally ill person, with them.
Later they killed him by slitting his throat on the outskirts of the village. They had also left a letter near the body.
On being informed, security personnel arrived at the spot and recovered the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
