Maoist camp busted in Rayagada, explosives seized

Rayagada: CRPF jawans in a joint operation with District Voluntary Force (DVF) busted a Maoist camp in Tuluba forest in Niyamgiri Hills of Kalyansinghpur in Rayagada district today. While no Maoists were arrested, the jawans exposed the ultras' camp during a combing operation and 15 detonators, 15 gelatine sticks, one tiffin bomb. The red rebels have fled before the security personnel reached there and surrounded the camp. According to reports, after getting specific information about the movement of Maoists, security forces launched an operation to trace them. Accordingly, the security personnel reached the area. However, sensing the movement of the combing team, the Maoists fled away into the forest leaving the arms and ammunitions in the camp. Sources said the presence of some top Maoist leaders cannot be ruled out.
