Sambalpur, April 27: In a bizarre incident, a woman was allegedly hacked to death by his husband in Ward 11 under Kuchinda Police limits of Sambalpur district. The deceased woman has been identified as Damayanti Majhi. Reportedly, the victim husband Govind Majhi, returned home from the office around 4 pm in the evening and asked Damayanti for lunch. Thereafter, a heated argument took place between the couple over the food. An enraged Govind hacked Damayanti to death and fled from the spot. Kuchinda sub-divisional police officer Raj Kishor Mishra, Police Officer Shobhakar Seth, and the scientific team reached the spot to initiate the investigation. The blood-soaked body was recovered by the cops and has been sent for autopsy. It is to be noted that the locals have alleged that there was a continuous dispute between the couple.
