Man arrested in Odisha for creating and selling fake ID cards to people for movement during lockdown

Bhubaneswar, May 18: A 50-year-old man was today arrested by Chandrasekharpur police for allegedly creating and selling fake ID cards to people for hassle free movement during lockdown and weekend shutdown. The accused identified as Rabi Behera, a resident of Damana has been selling each ID card for Rs 300-500. Police have also seized more than 50 fake ID cards of several companies including ITs and leading media houses of the state. Police said that the accused who owns an office stationery shop in Chandrasekharpur area has been running the illegal business after lockdown was imposed in the state. “He used to use the logos of various leading private companies and fix photographs of people. He has even sold several fake ID cards of food aggregators as their employees have been permitted to operate during lockdown,” said a police official.
