Malkangiri, Nov 12: In a shameful incident, a man was arrested for allegedly raping his own minor daughter at the Drugline area under Orkel police station in Malkangiri district.
The accused has been identified as Nitai Sarkar, a security guard at Balimela Hydropower Centre.
Sources said, Sarkar allegedly raped the girl forcefully on November 5 and threatened her to kill if she reveals it to anyone.
However, the 13-year-old girl narrated her ordeal before her neighbour. Nitai had also threatened her daughter again.
Later, the girl moved to the police station with the help of some neighbours.
Based on her complaint, police registered a case under sections 376(2)(f)/376(3)/506 IPC/R.W.Sec -4(2)/6 POCSO act.
Worth mentioning, Sarkar’s wife has been staying in her paternal house with her minor son after a family feud. The heinous crime took place in the absence of his wife.
