Balangir, Nov 7: Weeks after the death of woman teacher Mamita Meher, her father Suchindra Meher on Sunday released a statement requesting the people not to defame her daughter. He requested the people ‘not to politicise the unfortunate incident’. In a video message, Suchandra Meher said that she had never gone to Raipur with her alleged killer Gobinda Sahu. “I request everyone, please do not assassinate the character of my daughter,” he said. “After the death of my daughter the world has stopped for us. We are shattered and everything is finished. Under these circumstances it is very harsh to hear disgracing opinions about Mamita,” said Meher. Worth mentioning, Congress MLA from Kantabanji Santosh Singh Saluja had alleged Minister of State (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra, Govind Sahu and Mamita Meher were present at Mishra’s residence in Raipur between September 20 and 23. He further claimed Mishra tried to resolve differences between Govind and Mamita at his apartment in Raipur. Mamita’s father said that he has full confidence in the police investigation. “I have full faith that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will ensure justice for me and my family,” added Meher.
