Mamita Meher death case: BJP observes 12-hour bandh

Subarnapur, Oct 28: A 12-hour bandh is being observed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha’s Subarnapur district demanding resignation of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra over his alleged links with Govind Sahu, prime accused in the murder of Sunshine English Medium School teacher Mamita Meher. Holding placards and banners, workers of the party staged protest at various places here. Seeking justice for Mamita’s family, BJP has demanded a CBI probe in the matter. Besides, the party has also demanded the resignation of the Minister of State (MoS) for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra. All shops and commercial establishments will remain closed during the bandh. Besides, vehicles will remain off the road. However, all essential services including medical and health services, media, and examinees will be exempted from the purview of the bandh. During the police interrogation, Govind Sahu, the prime suspect in the missing lady teacher case, has reportedly confessed his involvement in her death. The police have also detained three other persons including Govind’s associate Radhe, JCB driver, and the stadium clerk in this connection.
