The retirees can make their Life Certificates with their android mobile through the App, Dr Singh added. He also pointed out that Department of Pension has been extensively using technology to achieve this end, be it introduction of Digital Life Certificate, introduction of an intelligent common software 'Bhavishya' for all Government of India Ministries for processing Pension cases. He said, the effort in issuing electronic PPOs and pushing the same in Digi locker is a huge step towards Ease of Living and transparency in drawing and dispensing pension to the elderly retirees, he added. What is Face Recognition Technology? According to this, the Bank is not required to provide proof of survival in writing. Bank officials will verify the faces of pensioners through mobile app. As soon as the scanning of the face is completed, the concerned pensioner will be registered in the application. This will be the digital proof of being alive. Many pensioners are unable to go to the bank due to old age. As such, this new technology will definitely be useful for pensioners.
