Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: With the 2024 general elections approaching, the three major political parties in the state have set their eyes on Western Odisha. BJD, BJP, and Congress have tried hard to woo the voters of Western Odisha by inaugurating various programs and organising events.
The ruling BJD has inaugurated several projects in western Odisha. Recently, CM Naveen Patnaik dedicated the SAMALEI project at Sambalpur with all pomps and shows. Last year, the Odisha government constructed a modernized stadium in Sundargarh at the cost of Rs 1500 crore
Recently, a major Irriigation project Lower Suktrel in Balangir district was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, fullfilling the long cherished dream of people of Balangir dkistrict of providing irrigatioin and driking water to the drought-prone zone.
BJD government has tried to win the hearts of the people of Western Odisha by improving the infrastructure, medical center, and education system in Western Odisha.
Similarly, BJP has also given priority to West Odisha, As most of the party MLAs and MP hail from Western Odisha, the party is focusing on this area. Ahead of the general election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Sambalpur on February 3. He is scheduled to inaugurate the permanent campus of IIM-Sambalpur and address a public meeting at Remed Ground. It is said that one and a half lakh people will be gathering in the meeting. On February 10, Modi is scheduled to address a mega women's convention.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of various railway projects. Modi's rally will give a boost to the party workers in western Odisha in the ensuing election.
The Grand Old Party has planned to woo the voters of western Odisha, The Congress party has organized programs in two districts of western Odisha during Rahul's visit to Odisha
On February 14, Rahul Gandhi will reach Chhattisgarh through Sundargarh and Jharsuguda. He will also cover Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar district. Rahul's journey in the state will cover 341 km. By touching the backward zone of Odisha , Congress is making efforts to win the hearts of western Odisha’s voters.
