Puri, Aug 29: On the auspicious occasion of 'Bhadrab Krishna Pakshya Ekadashi', Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on Thursday will be adorned in the famous 'Kaliyadalana Besha'.
On Wednesday, the deities were dressed in the Banabhoji Besha, while rituals such as Kolibika (selling of berries), Bakasura, and Arghyasura badha were performed. Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra were also adorned in the Balagopala and Badathakura beshas, respectively.
Following the Madhyanha Dhupa, the puja pandas will conduct the 'Angyamala bije niti' of Lord Madan Mohan and Ramakrushna. The 'pushpalaka' servitors will then escort the deities to the palanquin near the 'Jhulana Mandap'. From there, the deities will process around the Srimandira 'Bedha' before being taken to the Labanikhia Mandapa on Lokanath Road. At this location, after the Bandapana and Sitala Bhoga rituals, the renowned 'Kaliya Dalana' ritual will be performed at the Markanda pond.
Later, after completing the Bandapana and Sitala Bhoga rituals, the deities will return to the temple. At the Jay Bijay dwara, the Ekadashi Bhoga and Bandapana rituals will be observed before the deities are taken to the 'Dakhini Ghara'.
Finally, after the remaining rituals, Lord Jagannath will be placed on the 'Ratna Singhasana' and adorned with the 'Kaliyadalana Besha'.
