Kantabanji, July 16: Locals of Muribahal and Belpara under Balangir district staged 'Jal Satyagrah' in the Lantha river demanding a bridge over it. People of the two villages staged the innovative protest in order to catch the attention of the district administration. Sources said the Lantha river stands as a geographical barrier between Titlagarh and Patnagarh town. People of both sides face immense trouble during the rainy season to cross the river for essential works. Even the emergency medical service becomes unreachable due to the flowing of water in the river. Alternatively, patients go to hospitals via Tikrapada village, after moving 2 km. The villagers said that they would continue to protest till their demand is addressed by the district administration.
