LIC official dies in Rayagada as ambulance fails to reach due to public non-cooperation

Rayagada, May 21: An LIC official died a tragic death in Rayagada district as the villagers did not co-operate the ambulance driver to locate the patient’s home. As a result, the Corona infected Trailokyanath Mishra succumbed to shock without medical care. The incident took place at Kasturi Nagar, Lane-5 at Rayagada on Thursday. Sources said, Trailokyanath was in home isolation in his residence at Kasturi Nagar after he tested Covid-19 positive. However, he became unconscious on Thursday morning. His wife immediately contacted the Covid Control Room for an ambulance. Accordingly, the ambulance reached at Lane 5 of Kasturi Nagar and the driver asked the villagers regarding the address of Trailokyanath’s residence. However, everyone on the street fled away for homes fearing Corona infection from the ambulance. As a result, the ambulance driver roamed the vehicle in and around the village street but could not trace the exact location of Trailokya’s house. On the other hand, Trailokya’s wife could not follow up for the ambulance since she had a breastfed baby and unconscious husband to take care of. Meanwhile, the ambulance reached the spot with the help of a news reporter after 3 hours. However, Trailokya was no more to be carried to the hospital. Doctor declared him dead.
