Lakhimpur Kheri violence: 14-day judicial custody for Union Minister’s son Ashish Mishra

Lucknow, Oct 10: Ashish Misra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Misra, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody following his arrest on Saturday night in connection with the violence that erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri last week. The petition for police custody remand will be heard on Monday. Ashish was arrested yesterday night after over 11 hours of questioning in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence which left eight people, including four farmers, dead. Ashish Mishra appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) in the crime branch office of the police line at around 10.30am where he was questioned regarding the FIR registered against him. The Crime Branch also seized Ashish Misra's mobile phone.
