Konark, Dec 5:Odisha’s Konark Sun Temple complex has been waterlogged due to Jawad-related rain on Sunday. Over 2-feet of water has covered the whole premises of the heritage due to the continuous downpour from last night. Sources said the Puri-Konark coast has received good rain as an effect of Cyclone Jawad which has been intensified in the west-central region of the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the campus of the Sun Temple has gathered stagnant rainwater within the compounds. Over knee-deep water, to pass in and around the temple has put visitors and exterior tourists in trouble to go round the world-famous heritage. Following this, locals have demanded a permanent solution to the problem as waterlogging here, is frequently causing concern for the visitors and local businessmen throughout the year.
