<strong>Killer elephant tranquilized in Cuttack</strong>

Cuttack, Sept 28: The killer elephant which trampled two persons in Cuttack on Wednesday has been tranquilized. Divisional Forest Officer(DFO), Cuttack City, Ajit Satpathy said that the lone elephant which wreaked havoc last night and killed two in Cuttack in the morning was tranquilized after a tiring operation. The pachyderm is now lying in an unconscious state near the Pir Bazar and an attempt is being made to deport it into the Athgarh forest. A herd of elephants from the Athgarh forest had entered the residential settlement of the Jagatpur area late at night on Tuesday. Following the devastation in the area, the forest department was tracking them for chasing them away into the forest. Subsequently, a lone elephant wreaked panic in the area and killed a couple in the Jagatpur area in the morning.
