New Delhi, Sep 29: Amid the ongoing crisis in the Punjab Congress, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Wednesday took a dig at the party leadership as he questioned the delay in the election of the party president. Sibal, who was among the leaders who wrote a letter to interim Congress chief Sonia Gandhi last year, raised questions over the manner in which the party was being led. "In our party, there is no president. So we don't know who is taking these decisions. We know and yet we don't know," Kapil Sibal said. Kapil Sibal said he and other G-23 leaders (group of 23 party dissidents) did not want to leave the party but strengthen it. "I am speaking on behalf of my personal capacity and like-minded people who had written the letter last year. I stand here with a heavy heart. I am a part of a party that has a glorifying past. I can't see the situation it is at the moment," Sibal said. Meanwhile, workers of Delhi Congress protested against Kapil Sibal outside his residence in New Delhi. They showed placards reading 'Get Well Soon Kapil Sibal'. “Kapil Sibal is misleading. Sonia Gandhi Ji is making decisions in the party. It is unfortunate that an experienced person like Kapil Sibal doesn't know decisions are being taken. Those committed to ideology of Congress will never leave the party,” said senior Cong leader TS Singh Deo.
