Kalahandi police nabs three cyber fraudsters from Jharkhand

Bhawanipatna, Sept 13: Kalahandi police has arrested three cyber fraudsters from Jharkhand on Monday. According to SP Kalahandi, in a breakthrough, three professional cyber criminals from Jamtara district in Jharkhand who posed as customer care operators and cheated people all over India, duping of more than Rs 50 lakh have been arrested by Kalahandi Police. Their modus operandi was, they were placing advertisements in Google under various brand names and put their own numbers in the place of customer care numbers. When gullible "customers" were calling them they were convincing t he victims to click the link which they shared in their mobile phones. Subsequently,the link was leading them to a fake payment page which was in fact a phishing page. When victims were sharing their bank details for payment, the fraudsters were immediately using the details and withdrawing money from victim's bank accounts.
