Cuttack, March 12:The Orissa High Court on Tuesday quashed the draft merit list published by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) for recruitment of junior teachers.
The Orissa High Court has ordered to prepare district-wise merit list afresh.
In the final hearing a petition filed in this connection, a division bench of the Orissa High Court on Tuesday issued directions to the OSEPA authorities to follow the government’s guidelines, as laid down for the teachers’ recruitment.
Samir Das the Counsel for the petitioner said,“ The High Court in the order passed today, quashed the State-wise combined list and also ordered to prepare district-wise list afresh”.
As per the norms, the application of the candidate would be considered based on his first preference. But, the government prepared a combined list ignoring the candidates. As a result, several candidates did not find a place in the merit list in their respective districts, Das added.
