JP Nadda elected unopposed as BJP chief

New Delhi, Jan 20: JP Nadda was elected unopposed as the new national president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. He took over the party’s top post after sharing responsibility with Home Minister Amit Shah as working president of BJP since June 2019. He was elected unopposed since he was the only candidate. His name was proposed by Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, the former national presidents of the BJP. The senior leader enjoys the trust of both the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah.
