Jharsuguda : Daughters, son in law arrested for attempting to set man ablaze

Jharsuguda, Aug 14: Three near and dear ones have been arrested by Jharsuguda police on Saturday on the charge of making a bid to set a man ablaze. The incident came to fore on Thursday when police and fire-fighters rescued Kailash Meher at the Lectures Colony in Jharsuguda town in the afternoon. The accused have been identified as Panchami and Jasoda, the daughters of the victim and Trilochan Meher, the son in law. Sources said, Kailash had got previous ill-will with his daughters Panchami and Jasoda. Meanwhile, it became violent when the duo attacked Kailash on Thursday all of sudden. Finding no ways out, the elderly man shut the doors and rescued himself from further attack. However, the duo with the help of Trilochan threw some burning clothes into the room through the asbestos where Kailash concealed himself out of fear. Consequntly, the room was filled with smoke and Kailash became breathless and somehow managed to get out of the room. Being informed, fire brigade doused the fire from the spot. Acting on the complaint of Kailash,Jharsuguda Town police undertook an investigation and arrested the offenders.
