Bhubaneswar, April 28: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has started porting of medical oxygen with its Liquefied Nitrogen Gas (LPG) tankers.In a view to ease the supply of medical oxygen to the Corona hit states emergently, IOCL authorities has transformed LNG tankers to oxygen carrying tankers.Accordingly, IOCL sent the first oxygen filled tanker from Bokaro for Patna yesterday. In addition, the company readied as many as 29 unused LNG tankers to be used as oxygen tankers. They will leave for the needy states loading liquid oxygen soon, said an IOCL official.Notably, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan directed IOCL to facilitate oxygen supply to meet exigencies regarding Covid-19.
