Inter College basketball tournament organised by Utkal University concludes

Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Athletic Club of Utkal University successfully organized two-day inter-college basketball tournament for men at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex. The two-day tournament attracted teams from four colleges while more than 20 participants joined for the trial selection. Dr. Surendra Kumar Sahoo, Comptroller of Finance, Utkal University inaugurated the opening ceremony of the tournament and advised the participants to play with sportsmanship spirit. The organiser, Dr.Kirti Ranjan Mallick was joined by three Physical Education Teachers, Dr.Benudhar Das, Jatani College, Dr. Prabir Mohanty, Baranga College and Chaturbhuj Jena from Dev Ray college, Bhubaneswar who efficiently conducted the tournament. The final match was played between BJB College and Dev Ray college in which BJB College won by the difference of one goal scored in last 30seconds. The valedictory session was graced by the Vice-chancellor of Utkal University, Prof. Sabita Acharya. Prof Acharya who herself was a sportswoman during her college days congratulated all the participants and distributed the championship trophy to BJB College and first runners-up trophy to D.R. College. Certificates were also distributed to all the participants.
