Indian bear bites guide in Odisha’s Nandankanan zoo

Bhubaneswar,Oct 27: A guide in Odisha’s Nandankanan zoo has been critically wounded after a bear bit him in the bear-safari on Wednesday. The rare incident came to the fore when a group of animal custodians rampaged into the bear-safari in the afternoon to answer the alarm raised by a tourist guide. Sources said, a tourist guide was escorting a group of tourists in Nandankanan’s bear-safari. Meanwhile, he fed some eatables to an Indian bear. Meanwhile, the bear bit his hand and caught hold of it for a long time. Responding to his alarm, a group of animal custodians rushed to the spot and rescued the guide from the wrath of the bear and sent to the hospital for prompt resuscitation, said the Deputy Director of Nandan Kanan zoological garden.
