Balasore, Nov 7: India successfully test fired tactical surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile Pralay from a test facility off Odisha coast on Tuesday.
With a strike range of 500 km, the canisterised missile is in the process of induction into the Indian Army.
In September, the Defence Ministry cleared the proposal of buying a regiment of Pralay tactical ballistic missiles for the Indian Army which can strike targets at 150–500 km.
It is the first time that a ballistic missile will be inducted into the services for conventional operations.
