Bhubaneswar, June 9: The State Government on Tuesday suspended three engineers of the Bargarh Irrigation Division for alleged gross misconduct and dereliction in duty pertaining to the execution of project works of box conduit over Bargarh distributary.
Those suspended were Bargarh Irrigation Division Superintending Engineer Madan Mohan Sethy, Bheden Irrigation Sub-Division Assistant Executive Engineer Raj Kumar Mishra and Bargarh Canal Section Assistant Engineer Ranjan Patel.
Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against them for alleged gross misconduct and dereliction in duty pertaining to the execution of project works of "construction of box conduit over Bargarh distributary from RD 3561m to 5473m (Phase-I canal front development Bargarh Town from RD 4145m to RD 5140m)under Canal Division, Bargarh, said an official order.
“Whereas, disciplinary proceeding against Sri Madan Mohan Sethy, Superintending Engineer, Bargarh Irrigation Division, Bargarh, Sri Raj Kumar Mishra, Asst. Executive Engineer, Bheden Irrigation Sub-Division, Bheden and Sri Ranjan Patel, Asst. Engineer, Bargarh Canal Section is contemplated for alleged gross misconduct and dereliction in duty pertaining to the execution of project works of "construction of box conduit over Bargarh distributary from RD 3561m to 5473m (Phase-I canal front development Bargarh Town from RD 4145m to RD 5140m)under Canal Division, Bargarh,” said the order issued by the Water Resources Department.
“Now therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by Sub-Rule (1) of Rule-12 of O.C.S. (C.C. & A.) Rules, 1962, Sri Madan Mohan Sethy, Superintending Engineer, Bargarh Irrigation Division, Bargarh, Sri Raj Kumar Mishra, Asst. Executive Engineer, Bheden Irrigation Sub-Division, Bheden and Sri Ranjan Patel, Asst. Engineer, Bargarh Canal Section are placed under suspension with immediate effect and shall remain under suspension until further orders,” it stated.
According to the suspension order, Superintending Engineer Madan Mohan Sethy has been attached to office of Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources in Bhubaneswar while Bheden Irrigation Sub-Division Assistant Executive Engineer Raj Kumar Mishra and Bargarh Canal Section Assistant Engineer Ranjan Patel have been attached to the office of the Chief Engineer & Basin Manager, Mahanadi Basin, Burla in Sambalpur district.
“It is further ordered that during the period of suspension, the Headquarters of Sri Sethy, SE is fixed at O/o the Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and the Headquarters of Sri Mishra, AEE and Sri Patel, AE is fixed at O/o the Chief Engineer & Basin Manager, Mahanadi Basin, Burla and they shall not leave the Headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the Competent Authority,” it added.
