Husband lands at wife’s mehendi ceremony for her second marriage; marriage stopped

Bhubaneswar, 28/11: The move of a married woman to marry a second man deceiving her first husband was scuttled in Bhubaneswar because of the latter's timely intervention. The husband landed at his wife’s parental house at Nayapalli VIP Colony in the city while the mehendi ceremony was going on. The marriage was scheduled to be held today. But before the marriage, the first husband had moved the family court seeking its intervention. On the court order, Nayapalli police stopped the move, following which the proposed marriage has been deferred. According to reports, Rakesh Barik of Angul area and a young woman living in Nayapalli VIP Colony in the city developed intimacy while they were taking coaching for banking recruitment test. However, the family members did not agree to their marriage as they belonged to different caste. Finally, they had done court marriage. Gradually, both the families accepted the marriage. However, Rakesh left Bhubaneswar to be employed in a private company outside. His wife also got an employment at a firm in NOIDA of New Delhi last year. Their marital relation was OK after the passage of 3-4years of marriage. They were also regularly in conversation over telephone, Rakesh also met his wife at NOIDA in May.  However, Rakesh got suspicious when he saw a photograph of his wife posted in social media a few days ago. He learnt from his wife’s colleagues that she was going to marry a youth of Bihar’s Patna on November 28. After knowing this, Rakesh tried to convince her family members. But in vain. Finally, Rakesh filed a case in the Family Court at Angul. After seeing the marriage certificate, the court had ordered the woman not to marry elsewhere. However, her family members ignored the court order and proceeded with their move. Accordingly, the mehendi ceremony was going on yesterday at her VIP Colony residence. At that time, Rakesh landed there and created ruckus. Finally, Nayapalli police reached the spot and intervened. The marriage has been reportedly deferred.
