Malkangiri, June 4: Kalimela forest officials have seized a huge cache of country turtle from MPV-65 village under Kalimela forest Range on Thursday. As many as 150 turtles along with two bikes have been seized from the posession of the illegal wildlife peddlers. Sources said, two wildlife traders were carrying turtles from Andhra Pradesh boarder. Acting on concrete input, some forest guards tried to intercept two suspected bikers. However, they escaped narrowly leaving the bikes on the road near MPV-65 village. Following, which the bikes and turtles got seized. A case on wildlife act has been registered while operation is on to nab the offenders soon, said the Range Officer.
