Bhadrak, May 23: The Central Excise unit has seized huge cache of spurious foreign liquor from Artu village under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak today.
Two illegal vendors have been arrested in this connection with seizure of 100 liter liquor with bottle labelling materials from their possession.
Sources said, the intelligence wing of Central Excise Department conducted a raid in Artu village today following a tip-off from reliable sources. The team spotted an illegal foreign liquor bottling plant near the gram panchayat office of artu village, where Akhsya Behera and Parsuram Sandhibigraha were bottling spurious liquor for supplying else where.
The excise team recovered around 100 litres of liquor, 30 thousand rupees cash along with essential bottling machines.
The two accused have been arrested. Investigation is on to unveil the total network of illegal liquor trade, said an excise official.
