Highest 14,531 farmers of Ganjam assisted under KALIA

Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: Ganjam district has received the highest assistance under Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) programme. As many as 14,531 farmers of the district have been assisted under KALIA, said Agriculture Minister Arun Kumar Sahu on Wednesday. Replying to a question in Odisha Assembly today, Sahu said that as many as 36,98,018 small and marginal farmers across the state have been benefited under KALIA. As many as 17,89,103 landless beneficiaries have availed of the assistance to boost their cultivation. Similarly, 57,614 sharecroppers have received KALIA assistance so far. However, the landless farmers who availed of KALIA assistance are not enrolled as per the guidelines of PM Kissan said Sahu.
