Koraput, Nov 11: A high-level committee is likely to discuss the ensuing Kotia border dispute with all political parties soon. Sources said an all-party meeting was convened at the Koraput Circuit house in connection with the Andhra-Odisha border dispute at Kotia group of villages in the Koraput district. A panel of intellectuals headed by the convener of the meeting, Iswar Panigrahi along with the regional leaders from the three major parties BJD, BJP, and Congress discussed the matter. Three BJD MLAs, Jeypore MLA & Congress Chief Whip Tara Prashad Bahinipati and Dandakaranya Parbatmala Vikash Parishad chairperson Jairam Pangi opined to resist the illegal access of Andhra Pradesh officials into the territory of Odisha. At the same time, some local intellectuals who attended the meeting emphasized the opposition to the illegal administrative interventions of Andhra Pradesh. The all-party meeting resolved that the Odisha government should, first of all, prevent the illegal access of Andhra Pradesh officials so that the solution to the border dispute over the authority of Kotia will be easier. Similarly, the meeting also decided that the state government should discuss the matter with the Centre in order to sort out the long-standing problem amicably. The meeting urged for formation of a high-level committee to project the issues and carry forward discussions on the Kotia matter in consultation with all political parties.
