High Court refuses interim protection to Baijayant and his wife in connection with Sarua land scam

Cuttack, Nov 20: The Orissa High Court today lifted interim protection from arrest to BJP’s vice-president Baijayant Panda and his wife OTV’s managing director Jagi Mangat Panda in connection with the Sarua land scam. The Court also rejected the petition to quash the FIR registered in connection with the land scam. Earlier on November 13, the Court had concluded the hearing the petition on Sarua land scam and reserved its judgment. The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch is currently investigating the land scam. During inquiry, the EOW has found that Odisha InfraTech Pvt Ltd has purchased land belonging to Scheduled Caste persons circumventing rules by forgery and other dubious methods with an intention to cause losses to SC people. The Odisha InfraTech Pvt Ltd  is an associate company of OTV.
