Dhenkanal, July 24: A herd of elephants has created panic near Dhenkanal town on Saturday. As many as 15 elephants from the Kamakshyanagar forest have entered near the Kunjakanta railway track, on the outskirt of the town. Sources said, a herd of elephants including a few tuskers and calves passed through the transit of Kapilash-Joranda forest range and sheltered in the forest near the Kunjakannta railway track on Wednesday. The wild elephants were sent into the Megha hill region. However, the jumbos turned up near Kunjakanta the next evening. The presence of elephants for days together has sparked panic around Kunjakant residential areas along with Shyamacharanpur, Icchadeipur, Bhagabanpur and Boripada villages.
