Bhubaneswar: The High Court has directed the Government to suspend Jharsuguda district Collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan for failing to satisfy it in a contempt of court case.
According to reports, the Collector faced a contempt of court case after issuing an order to lease out a liquor outlet at Brajarajnagar in the district while a case pertaining to the outlet was subjudice in the High Court.
Earlier, a case relating to leasing of the liquor outlet had been filed in the HC. While the case was subjudice, the Collector issued an order for leasing out the liquor shop. A contempt of court was filed against him. But he didn’t satisfy the court with required evidences.
