Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: The interview procedure has been completed for the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre (GKCMORC) and the name will be announced soon, said a senior official of the Culture department.
The interview process of the short-listed candidates ended on August 25 and the name of the new CEO will be announced after completion of departmental formalities.
The joint director of the Odia Language Literature &Culture Department has been given the additional charge of the research centre for over a year.
The centre, which was set up for research, is more involved in organising events than sponsoring fellowships or research projects.
The Odissi Research Centre is an autonomous body and the state government's funds keep flowing. But, there is no visible work due to delay in the appointment of the CEO, said a scholar of the institute.
With no research or documentation being done due to the lack of a permanent CEO, the centre has transformed into a cheap school for amateur dancers and is busy with organising dance festivals all the time, alleged researchers.
