Gopalpur MLA and daughter seek time from ED to depose

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahy and his daughter have sought more time from Enforcement Directorate (ED). Both of them were earlier summoned to depose before the agency for questioning on possession of disproportionate assets and involvement in an alleged job scam. Sources said that the lawyer of the legislator has presented the request of seeking more time.  The legislator was arrested by Odisha Crime Branch on December 3 on graft charges and has been lodged in Jharpada Special Jail in the city. He is accused of cheating aspirants on the pretext of providing job in Tata Group. Panigrahy, MLA from Gopalpur in Ganjam district was earlier expelled from BJD for anti-people activities. Earlier on Tuesday, former IFS officer Abhayakant Pathak has appeared before the ED for questioning in connection with corruption and job fraud.
