New Delhi, Jan 7: Goa Chief Minister Sawant on Thursday wrote the president demanding dismissal of the Punjab government over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach incident. Sawant also spoke to the media about the incident where he slammed the Congress party over the issue. “We (a delegation of BJP MLAs & leaders from Goa) met Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai over the security breach that left PM Modi’s convoy stranded on a flyover in Punjab and demanded in a letter to President for dismissal of the Punjab government on such grounds,” CM Sawant said while speaking to the media. Notably, Prime Minister Modi, during his visit to Punjab, was scheduled to fly to Hussaniwala in a helicopter from Bhatinda to attend a rally. However, he had to travel by road since flying the helicopter was turned down due to heavy rains and low visibility. Modi took the two hour-long route to Hussainiwala after receiving confirmation from his security team and making plans with the DGP of Punjab Police. However, the Prime Minister’s convoy was stopped by a road blockade 30 Kilometers away from the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala.
