Bhubaneswar, July 16: The Court of District & Sessions Judge-III, Khurda today convicted four persons accused of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The convicted are Tarini Pattanaik, Suraj Sharma, Rajesh Kumar Barik, and Santosh Parihary. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 10, 000 each. On August 12, 2013, Managing Director of Kalingaputra Real Estate and Developers Krushna Chandra Nayak was shot at from close range near a post office under IRC Village under Nayapalli police limits. The murder was a fallout of the past enmity of Tarini with Nayak and land dispute. Earlier Nayak and his sons had attacked Tarini in March 2011, so Tarini had plotted the murder to take revenge. The case was investigated by Anup Kanungo, former IIC of Nayapali police station, and all the four accused persons were arrested and forwarded to the court. After establishing sufficient evidence, a charge sheet was submitted against the above four accused persons.
