Foundation stone laid for Common User Petroleum Facility at Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal, Aug 28: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Common User Petroleum Facility at Sadashibpur in Dhenkanal district. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri attended the programme through video conferencing. Pradhan said the project will be set up on a 50-acre land at an estimated cost of Rs 395 crore. A state-of-the-art depot with storage capacity of about 42000 KL has been planned for storing MS, HSD, Ethanol and Bio-diesel. The proposed project is expected to be completed by August 31, 2023. The facility will help reduce the cost of frequent transportation of petroleum products from Paradip Terminal. It will be utilised by all national oil marketing companies, IOCL, BPCL and HPCL and effectively and safely meet the demand of central and north Odisha, said Pradhan. Districts like Angul, Keonjhar, Deogarh and Dhenkanal will be major beneficiaries of this facility.
