Hyderabad, Jan 25: As expected, Indian spinners dominated England on Day-1 of the First Test, here on Thursday.
Opting to bat first, England were 215/8 in 59 overs at Tea on Day-1.Seasoned Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, along with tall left-arm spinner Axar Patel, were on a roll.
Openers duo Zak Crawley (20), Ben Duckett (35), Joe Root (29), Johny Bairstow (37) , Rehan Ahmed (13) and Tom Hartley (23), though got starts but could not negotiate and withstand Indian spinners for long.
Skipper Ben Stokes, however, proved why he is rated so high in world cricket, as he stood tall amid ruins. Stokes, the fighter and hero of several famous England victories, was busy taking the score-card forward and batting with tail-enders.
