Mayurbhanj, July 30: Mayurbhanj district administration provided employment to the first matriculate of indigenous Mankadia tribe, Baya Mankadia on Thursday. Baya Mankadia, who has passed higher secondary due to his perseverance has been appointed as a contractual teacher on rehabilitation grounds. At the same time, the administration has gifted him a laptop on a special occasion organized by the district officials. Sources said Baya Mankaia who had passed out matriculation in 2010, as the first person from the vulnerable Mankadia hill tribe was in distress after his guardian’s death. Being informed, Collector Mayurbhanj Vineet Bharadwaj took stock of his crisis and appointed him as a contractual teacher in a government school at Udala. Subsequently, he gifted him a laptop in order to make him a computer literate and proceed further in his career. Notably, A native of Bhandaripal village under Kaptipada block, 24-year-old Baya Mankadia was also the first youth from the community to clear the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in 2012.
